The exhibition “The Rose that Grew from Concrete” took place from November 20 to December 8, 2023 at the Gittins Gallery on the University of Utah’s campus. The theme of this exhibition comes from a poem by hip-hop artist Tupac Shakur, and was chosen by students at Farmington Bay Youth Center, a young women’s-designated facility. 

Artists from a young men’s-designated facility also contributed artwork, and the featured artists were able to view the exhibition reception on Zoom.
